GTA 6 is all anyone can talk about at the moment and it’s been that way for some time.
It’s been almost 10 years since GTA V was released and while Rockstar still provides regular updates to GTA Online in 2023, many want to know when the next installment will arrive.
The recent GTA Trilogy remake gave players the impression that the game will not release soon.
So what year is GTA 6 coming out?

Ultimately, the specific year GTA 6 will come out is still up in the air.
The closest idea to a date we have for the GTA 6 release date is a time between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025; this comes from a recent Take-Two Interactive investors call.
The company said that “active development for the next entry” is “well underway” and that it will enter its “next phase of growth in Fiscal 2025”.
More recently, Take-Two claimed they will experience a “significant inflection point” and “record levels” of performance in fiscal 2025 (April 2024 – March 2025). Meaning it’s very probable that GTA 6 will be announced next year with a release in late 2024 to hit peak release time around the holidays.
All of this can change and this is a huge window for Rockstar to work with, but it’s looking unlikely to move out of this timeframe.
Tez2, a well-known member of the GTA forums and insider, says that Rockstar’s “aimed-always-changing-not-set-in-stone deadline is holiday 2024, which has been pushed back multiple times [over] the past few years. Unfortunately, it could slip into early 2025 as well.”
Tez2 also mentions that they “personally see an announcement as a given this year. I don’t think the upper management is in a position to delay further to holiday 2025/2026”. Rockstar could meet this deadline by “cutting more potions of the game to package into DLCs to release later on” as it “may be more sustainable for management than delaying further”.
