Sony announced their latest device, Project Q, at their most recent PlayStation showcase.
This new handheld device has got PlayStation salivating at the thought of playing their favourite franchises while on the move.
Here’s what you need to know about Project Q.
When Does Project Q Release?
Project Q is set to release later in 2023 – so it’s likely a Holiday 2023 launch.
What Is Project Q?
Project Q is a dedicated remote device for playing PlayStation titles and Sony’s answer to Xbox’s Cloud Gaming service.
Although it’s not quite a cloud gaming device, it does allow you to play PS5 games on to go.
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan said the following:
“Innovation is our passion, and that applies to not just what games you play, but how you play them,” Ryan said. “Later this year we will launch a device that enables you to stream any game from your PS5 over Wi-Fi.
Sporting an 8″ HD display screen, which is roughly the same size as a Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite tablet.
It will come equipped with two controller halves on each side of the screen (it looks like a PS5 controller cut in half).

Games must be installed on your PS5, and unfortunately, PSVR games will not be supported.
While it’s not a PS Vita successor, it’s as close as we could hope and a great choice for PlayStation fans looking to take their gaming on the go.
Allegedly the device will have three-four hours of battery life. That’s according to an Insider Gaming report by Tom Henderson; a well known industry leaker.
Pre-Order
The device is yet to go up for Pre-Order, but once we have more information we will update this page.
