Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s next 7-star Tera Raid features the mystical fire-type Pokemon Delphox.

The Kalos starter Pokemon is the latest featured boss raid and true to the Tera raid nature, it will feature a unique Tera type.

Delphox will Terastalize into a Fairy type, making it a tough foe to defeat.

So here’s our guide to defeating the 7-Star Tera Raid Boss Delphox in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. 

Dates

The first bout will commence on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 9, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

The second encounter will take place from Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

How To Join The Delphox Tera Raid

To join you will need to have updated to the latest version of Poke Portal News in-game.

To do this, make sure your device is connected to the internet, press ‘x’, select Poke Portal, select Mystery Gift, and then select ‘check Poke Portal News’.

To join the raid, you will have to have completed the post-game story before you can join 6-star raids and above. Once done, you will need to find the Black Crystal Tera Raid den on the map with the Fairy-type symbol on it.

You can, alternatively, join a friend via a Link Code.

Other than catching Delphox with the Fairy-Tera type (which can only be done once per save file), there are other rewards on offer.

General Raid Tips

There are a few things to consider when preparing for this raid, the ability Magician will not work in the Tera Raid, so you will not need to worry about items being stolen.

However, Magic Room will disable the use of all items. So you will need to prepare as if your items are not useful.

If it puts up Sunny Day, it will still majorly benefit from this benefit when using its Fire-type moves and weaken water types.

Fairy types are Super Effective against Fighting, Dragon and Dark types. So you should avoid these typings at all times.

While Delphox is a Fairy-type during the Tera raid, meaning it will be weak against Poison and Steel types, its moveset is filled with Fire and Psychic-type moves. Meaning, if you simply bring a Steel or Poison-type Pokemon you may struggle.

Choose Pokemon that have good Special Bulk to mitigate as much damage as possible.

Best Pokemon To Use

The best Pokemon to use in this raid are Ceruledge and Iron Moth.

Ceruledge has access to the ability ‘Flash Fire’, which will prevent any damage done by Fire-type moves. It’s also a Ghost-type, meaning it’s resistant to any Psychic attacks.

Use moves such as Bitter Blade, to give you some healing ability, while also teaching it a steel move such as Iron Head.

Iron Moth is a great defensive Pokemon, being able to resist Fire-type moves and utilising Light Screen to defend against Psyhcic or Fairy-type moves.

You can then use Poison type moves like Acid Spray and Sludge Wave to kill it faster.

If you have access to Pokemon Home, you can use Pokemon such as Klefki, Houndoom, Heatran, Perserker or Origin Forme Dialga.
