Overwatch 2 Season 6 is coming to an end in October with Season 7 taking its place.

This next season will be a big one, with plenty of new content, including a Road Hog and Sombra rework.

The recent mid-season update adjusted a few heroes, of which we can expect more of the same in the new season.

So what’s new in Season 7 of Overwatch 2?

Release Date

The next season of Overwatch 2, Season 7, should arrive on October 10th 2023.

The new season will start at 12PM PT, which is 8PM BST

Update Size

The update will be available for pre-download before the season’s launch date and will be roughly 5-6GB in size.

Hero Changes

As detailed in the latest Director’s Take, here are the Hero changes coming to Overwatch 2:

• Orisa
  • Fortify damage reduction to be reverted or pulled back
• Zarya
  • Ally bubble size and health to be reduced
• Mei
  • Will no longer deep freeze enemies
• Torbjörn
  • Primary fire recovery time to be reverted or pulled back
• Illari
  • Secondary fire healing to be adjusted

Roadhog Rework

Roadhog is getting a rework, with the following details about how this might look, being revealed:

• Increase his ability to protect his team and claim space
• Maintain his overall identity and playstyle
• Move some of his power around so that his effectiveness isn’t so tied to his one-shot potential

Alec Dawson confirmed that both ‘Chain Hook’ and ‘Take A Breather’ will remain a part of his kit. His new ability may be bound to alternate fire or perhaps they’ll move some binds around!

Sombra Rework

Sombra will get a rework in Season 7, including a new ability.

Route 66 Rework

The updated map provides better protection for attackers to exit their initial spawn. After the first checkpoint, the doors will now only close part-way. Some cargo has been removed from the final point to help defenders.

New Hero Mastery Missions

Hero Mastery arrived in Season 6’s mid-season update.

We’re expecting to see new missions arrive in Season 7.
