When Is The Modern Warfare 3 (2023) Release Date?

The 2023 release of Call of Duty is rapidly approaching as we await more details on what we can expect this year.

While Call of Duty is fairly consistent with their releases, dropping them in a similar time frame each year (every year), there’s always slight variations.

Unlike games like FIFA/EA Sports FC, that release at the same time every year, Call of Duty is a little less predictable.

So when is the release date of Modern Warfare 3 (2023)?

When Is The Modern Warfare 3 (2023) Release Date?

Every year, without fail, since Call of Duty 4, the latest Call of Duty title has been released in the last few months of the year. Usually, the new Call of Duty releases in either October or November.

It seems this year is no different, as the Judge overseeing proceedings in Activision’s court battle against the FTC on June 30th let it slip that this year’s Call of Duty would release in November 2023.

This was further emphasised by the fact the Call of Duty Twitter account posted an eyes emoji shortly after word spread onto Social Media. Furthermore, a previous Insider Gaming report, from reliable leaker Tom Henderson claimed that Call of Duty 2023 will arrive on November 10, 2023.

So it’s almost a guarantee that we will see the game launch in November and likely to be in early November; especially as history would indicate. Previous Call of Duty launches have usually been in late October or early November, as you can see below:

  • Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare – 5 November 2007
  • Call of Duty: World at War – 11 November 2008
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – 10 November 2009
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops – 9 November 2010
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – 8 November 2011
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops II – 12 November 2012
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts – 5 November 2013
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare – 3 November 2014
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III – 5 November 2015
  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – 4 November 2016
  • Call of Duty: WWII – 3 November 2017
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – 12 October 2018
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – 25 October 2019
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – 13 November 2020
  • Call of Duty: Vanguard – 5 November 2021
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II – 17 September 2022

So ultimately, the 10th of November 2023 seems like a very likely date.
