The legendary Poke Ball has been referenced in the game since its release back in 2016 but has only just arrived.

When Is The Master Ball Coming To Pokemon GO?
The Master Ball will be available from the 22nd May 2023 at 10AM local time, until the 1st June 2023 at 10AM local time.
It is guaranteed to catch any Pokemon that you use it on.
How To Get The Master Ball In Pokemon GO?
Throughout Season 10: Rising Heroes, free Special Research will be available.

You’ll be able to claim the Special Research until the end of Season 10: Rising Heroes, on June 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
Trainers who complete the research will get a Master Ball as one of the rewards.
While this is the only chance to get a Master Ball and the only one available for each player, Pokemon GO has confirmed there will be “future opportunities in Pokémon GO to acquire more”.
