Old Friends, New Beginnings – sounds like a cliche but it’s a new Timed Research in Pokemon GO!
A new Season is approaching in Pokemon GO – Season 11 is called ‘Hidden Gems‘. As a result, Niantic is keeping the hype going with lots of new content and action.
So with a new Timed Research available, how can you complete it fast and what are the rewards?
How To Complete ‘Old Friends, New Beginnings’ FAST
There are three challenges to complete for ‘Old Friends, New Beginnings’, all of which are pretty easy:
Part 1
- Earn 12 hearts with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with Bulbasaur
- Earn 3000 XP
- Reward: Encounter with Charmander
- Power up Pokemon 10 Times
- Reward: Encounter with Bulbasaur
For completing the first set, you will receive 20x Bulbasaur Candy, 20 x Charmander Candy and 20x Squirtle Candy.
Part 2
- Claim Reward
- 100 x Venusaur Mega Energy
- Claim Reward
- 100 x CharizardMega Energy
- Claim Reward
- 100 x Blastoise Mega Energy
For completing the second set, you will receive 20x Pikachu Candy.
How To Complete Fast
The first task is done by doing a few easy tasks with your Pokemon:
- Walk together (2km) – rewards a maximum of three hearts
- Give your buddy a treat – rewards a maximum of three hearts
- Play together – rewards a maximum of one heart
- Battle together – rewards a maximum of three hearts
- Take a snapshot – rewards a maximum of one heart
- Visit a new place – rewards a maximum of one heart
With twelve hearts available for all buddy tasks, you could get this done if you’re out and exploring a lot.
Otherwise, focus on some of the lazier tasks such as playing together, giving your buddy a treat and taking a snapshot – this gives five hearts. If you wait long enough, you should be able to give your buddy more treats later on or you can try swapping buddies.
Earning 3000XP should be easy enough just playing the game, spinning Poke Stops, sending gifts and catching Pokemon.
The last task is easy if you have some Pokemon with lots of candies. Try to catch a low CP Pokemon and power it up to save your Candies and Stardust.
