While Charizard is the focus for the upcoming Obsidian Flames set, he’s also getting his own product, the ‘Charizard ex Premium Collection Box‘.
Scarlet and Violet are producing its first standalone ‘Zard product and it’s a unique one thanks to its content.
What’s unique about this product is it’s the first product that features a Tera Pokemon card, as well as packs, sleeves and a magnetic card display.

The Charizard ex collection box will release on the 20th of October 2023.
Price
This product retails at $39.99 in the US.
A price has yet to be revealed in the UK, but we’re expecting it to retail at £29.99.

What’s inside the box you ask? Here’s what you can expect
- 1 etched foil promo card featuring Charizard ex
- 2 foil cards featuring Charmander and Charmeleon
- 6 Pokémon TCG booster packs
- 1 magnetic card protector with display base
- 65 card sleeves featuring Charizard as a Tera Pokémon
- A code card for Pokémon TCG Live
It appears the two foil cards of Charmander and Charizard will feature from the Obsidian Flames set, while the Charizard ex card is a Black Star Promo card; which is slightly modified from the ex card featured in Obsidian Flames.
As for the packs, it seems pretty clear we will get two Scarlet and Violet base set packs, two Paldea Evolved packs and two Obsidian Flames pack.
This is also the first time a product has launched with a magnetic card protector with display base.
It also comes with 65 card sleeves with the key art from Obsidian Flames.
Is It Worth It?
Overall it seems like a really nice box and Charizard cards always tend to hold their value really well (because everyone loves a Charizard).
The box contains over £25 of packs, which is a great start. So to come with some fantastic card sleeves, a magnetic card protector with display base, two great holo foil cards and a really nice (and probably valuable) Charizard ex card, it’s a no-brainer as to whether you should buy it!
For any sealed product collectors, this is one to stock up on.
